Activator Method Chiropractic Technique
This technique is a gentle, low-force approach to chiropractic care. Since the late 1960s, this technique has been used safely on patients of all ages, bringing relief to people with a variety of health concerns.
Incorporating the latest advances in orthopedic, neurological and chiropractic examinations, this unique system of administering spinal adjustments using research-based analysis and the Activator Adjusting Instrument, can help restore spinal balance safely and comfortably. Because of its effectiveness and gentle nature, the Activator Method has grown to become the world's most widely-used chiropractic technique.
The Sacro-Occipital Technique (SOT)
"Sacro" means "related to or associated with the sacrum." The sacrum is the foundation for the spine and is often called the tailbone; though, this is not exactly correct. "Occipital" means "related to or associated with the occiput," or the back of the head. Therefore, SOT is a method of normalizing the relationship between the foundation of the spine and the top of the spine.
This relationship and the manner in which these two bones get along has been proven to be vitally important in the normal functioning of the brain and spinal cord. The word technique means "the way to get the job done scientifically and in a short period of time." SOT was founded and developed by Dr. M.B. DeJarnette, back in the mid 1920s. Dr. DeJarnette was both a chiropractor and osteopath. SOT continues through the SOT Research Society™ to be one of the most highly researched, cutting-edge techniques in chiropractic treatment.
